Sprouts Activities
BIRDWATCHING and NATURE BREATHING are the Sprouts activities for this season!
Birdwatching
Ask the Gardens' gift shop for the Sprouts Birdwatching kit. Check out a pair of binoculars. They are free to borrow, you will be asked to leave your ID at the front until the binoculars are returned. If you spot a flash of yellow and hear a slow, soft, sweetly whistled warble or trill coming from the tree-tops, then you must be in the presence of a Yellow-rumped Warbler. These striking feathered friends can be found at the Gardens along with more than 180 species of birds. They perch on the outer limbs of trees and are very visible as they fly out after insects. In the winter they eat great numbers of fruits, particularly bayberry and wax myrtle, which their digestive systems are uniquely suited to digest. Learn more about Birds at the Gardens...
Nature Breathing
Grab a Sprouts backpack and take the whole family on a relaxing journey through the Gardens as you learn to "breath like a tree" from your leaves to your roots or practice "Bunny Breathing".
