Join us this spring for a guided Rhododendron Walk at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens with Dennis McKiver of the American Rhododendron Society’s local chapter. More than 1,000 rhododendrons can be seen blooming throughout the Gardens during peak bloom in March, April, and May. Learn more about the Gardens' signature collection, including more than 124 species of rhododendrons and 315 taxa, many of them developed by the region's prolific, enthusiastic, and generous rhododendron growers!

THE DETAILS
- Be prepared for the weather with appropriate layers and wear good walking shoes.
- We recommend bringing along a refillable water bottle, a notebook, a pen, and a camera if desired.
- If you are sick, please stay home.
REGISTRATION
These walks are free with the cost of regular Gardens admission (paid upon registration) and just plain free for current MCBG Members (sign in to activate your discount). Registration for these walks can be made in advance online or in the Gardens' gift shop. ABOUT YOUR GUIDE
Dennis McKiver is a long-time Board Member of the American Rhododendron Society’s local chapter. Dennis has been growing and collecting Rhododendrons since 2001. His collection has over 1,000 hybrid and species Rhododendrons.

The American Rhododendron Society (ARS) is an international organization devoted to Rhododendrons. The Noyo Chapter of the ARS has been a local non-profit organization for over 45 years on the Mendocino Coast. They are a vibrant club with over 100 members whose mission is to promote the study and culture of rhododendrons and to stimulate interest in rhododendrons by any appropriate means. They hold frequent meetings of members, provide education, and host the annual Rhododendron Show at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
